SGBC Industry Course: WELL Essentials
More than just bricks and mortar, the built environment can dramatically impact our physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. The SGBC WELL Essentials course delves into the science behind the crucial connection between health and buildings, empowering participants to understand how design choices like air quality, lighting, water, nourishment, exercise, and even mind and community can significantly enhance the lives of occupants.
This course equips participants with the knowledge and skills to understand and implement the WELL Building Standard, a global framework for creating healthy and sustainable spaces.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify environmental factors that influence human health and wellbeing including the role of the built environment and organisations
- Understand the intent of each concept in WELL Building Standard V2 and identify key public health issues that underpin them
- Leverage the extensive resources and citations within the WELL Building Standard V2 to demonstrate the value of WELL Certification for stakeholders
- Be able to leverage Crosswalks, such as with the Green Mark Scheme, Green Mark for Interiors or LEED, to find efficiencies within multiple rating tools
- Be familiar with WELL at Scale, and deliver health and wellness across entire portfolios
- Be familiar with the Performance Verification aspect of WELL Certification
- Build a strong ESG strategy through WELL by leveraging available resources.
