Working Together to Sustain a COVID-safe Restart for the Built Environment Sector

17/06/2020

As the construction sector picks up the momentum in restarting work, we must ensure it is done safely. This is crucial as any COVID-19 outbreaks at work sites would upset the pace of restart and may result in costly disruptions to the whole sector.

We would like to share two messages from Mr Desmond Lee, Minister for Social and Family Development and 2nd Minister for National Development, and Dr Koh Poh Koon, Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry with you.

Minister Lee gives his take on how the industry, trade associations and chambers (TACs) and government agencies are working together to help the sector restart safely.

SMS Koh shares his thoughts on the complexity and scale of the ongoing operations to clear workers from dormitories in a systematic manner so that they can resume work safely and not pose a risk to their fellow colleagues and the community.
